i am opening a bead store and need to find wholesale bead and jewelry-making suppliers.

1. There is a lot on Ebay. Try there, and then search on a search engine like www.dogpile.com for jewelry supply wholesale.
2. One of the biggest suppliers is Rio Grande: http://www.riogrande.com/ They used to offer a free catalog, but I think they charge new customers now. Even if they charge a few bucks, it's well worth getting. It's a huge catalog with many products. It's a good place to start with the bulk of your basic inventory, but with something as specialized as a bead store, you should also seek out individual artistans who hand make their wares. Though, I do recall Rio Grande having some pretty interesting beads (chromatic glass, for example).
