- Here are some general ideas for finding bead scoops. Try locating bead specialty stores. They would have scoops for you. Try craft stores. See if they have beading scoops or beading tool kits that contain scoops. Try craft stores for miniatures. The miniature section may have scoops that are the proper size. They may have scoops for other types of crafts like potpourri spoons, bath salts spoons etc. They could work as well. You can purchase Chinese soup spoons at an oriental market. They are shaped enough to be able to use them as a scoop. Keep an open mind on what a "scoop" could look like and check out kitchen supply stores for small funnel shaped items or items with pour spots that could work as bead scoops. Good luck.
- You can buy them at craft stores such as Michael's, Joann's, Hobby Lobby, Garden Ridge, AC Moore. The above poster also gave good tips and suggestions.
- The tiny "sample spoons" you get at ice cream places are great and free. I love using a seashell -- they scoop great. come in different sizes, and make picking the beads back up and pouring into the container easier. (I'm using cockle shells I pick up at the beach) Another great bead scoop is the "pinch" spoons you get in cooking stores. It is a metal set of 1/8 tsp, 1/16 tsp, and 1/32 tsp measures. Pretty cheap and great for the tiny tubes of beads. I also have found the lid of the tubes work well for scooping the beads back in without spillage. The long handled, metal baby spoons (you find them in thrift shops or antique shops for cheap) are also perfect little scoops. You can find the plastic version of the long handled baby spoons at any place that sells baby stuff. Usually in sets of three or four.
